Cropping happens inside your browser. The PDF you choose is never sent to a server, which is why this keeps working once the page has loaded, even offline.
How to crop a PDF
- Drop your PDF into the box above, or click to choose it.
- Type how many millimetres to trim from the top, right, bottom and left. The size the pages will end up is shown as you type.
- Leave the pages field empty to crop every page, or name some.
- Select Crop pages, then download the file.
Measured, not drawn
This tool takes margins in millimetres rather than letting you drag a box over a picture of the page, because drawing that picture needs a full PDF renderer, and shipping one would make every page here several times slower to load. Margins are measured as the page appears on screen: "top" is the top you see, even for a page stored on its side.
Frequently asked questions
Is the cropped-off part deleted?
No. A PDF page records which area a reader should show, and cropping changes that area. The content underneath is still in the file — a crop of zero, or another tool, can bring it back — and the file does not get smaller. If you need the margins gone from the file itself, this is not the tool for that.
What if the pages are different sizes?
The same margins are trimmed from every page you crop, and the size shown is the first page's. A margin that would leave nothing of a smaller page is refused before anything changes.
Can I crop a password-protected PDF?
Yes. You will be asked for the password when the document is read. The cropped file is not password-protected.
